TSUNAMI
A short film by María Pulido

María Pulido is quite an unconventional art director. This rara avis, with a multidisciplinary profile, is capable of combining frames with brushstrokes and making them match. She has worked as an animator, illustrator, visual development artist, and watercolorist for over 15 years. From word to image, she pushes her projects forward, giving them a plastic yet fresh look. She is currently working as an art supervisor for environments and props on the latest installment of the Tadeo Jones saga.
Her work also includes the artistic direction of the feature film Mariposas Negras (Ikiru and Tinglado Films). In previous years, she combined art direction with illustration and animation production. During this process, she co-founded @calmastudioes, a shared project offering animation services.
She was the winner of the first edition of Desafío Buñuel with the film Ámome (2017), where she combined live-action and animation. She has also worked on productions such as the animated series The Wawies (Imagic TV, RTVE), Soc Mare (RTVE), Soy una Tumba (Khris Cembe), Antonio Machado. Los Días Azules (Laura Hojman), Las Palabras (Enrique Bunbury), Patchwork (María Manero), Codi Ictus (Most Wanted Studio), The Neverending Wall (Silvia Carpizo), and Nacer (Auntie Films).
